AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Austin's first responders were hard at work to maintain order and keep the public safe during this weekend's protests in downtown Austin.
Monday morning, Austin Police reported making nearly 30 arrests over the course of Sunday's events, with charges including burglary of buildings, interference with public duties, theft of property, theft of firearm, graffiti, engaging in organized crime, assault and participating in a riot. APD earlier reported arresting roughly 19 people during the course of Saturday's events.
Austin Fire crews dealt with a number of cases of civil unrest. In addition to several fires intentionally set in the downtown area Saturday night, crews dealt with approximately 6 dumpster fires across the city Sunday night into Monday morning.
Busy overnight with multiple working structure fires unrelated to civil unrest. There were 6 additional dumpster fires around the city but none in the immediate downtown area.

Austin-Travis County EMS also had additional resources stationed in the downtown area. Medics had responded to 8 protest-related incidents Sunday through about 8 p.m., while medics reported about 19 incidents on Saturday.
