Austin Police seeking potential witnesses in Garrett Foster shooting

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Austin Police are asking for additional witnesses to come forward in the Garrett Foster shooting.

Detectives are seeking to speak with drivers and passengers of two vehicles that were in the immediate area of the shooting on July 25, along with an individual seen wearing a green hat.

Foster was fatally shot on the evening of July 25 while participating in a protest in the 300 block of Congress Avenue. According to his attorney, Army Sgt. Daniel Perry fatally shot Foster in self-defense.

At the time of the shooting, the two vehicles were stopped in the northbound lanes at the intersection of Congress Avenue and 4th Street. The individual in the green hat was standing in the southbound lanes of the 300 block of Congress Ave., and in the immediate proximity of the shooting.
