
AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- A Capitol Metro driver died Tuesday after testing positive for COVID-19, officials said Wednesday.
According to Capital Metro, the employee worked as an operator for MetroAccess, a shared-ride service for people with disabilities.
His last day on the job was June 16, tested positive for COVID-19 on June 18, and passed away on June 30.
"He was known as a respected team member and well-liked by MetroAccess customers. The Capital Metro family mourns the passing of our friend and colleague and our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this time," officials said.
He had worked for Medical Transportation Management, the company that manages the MetroAccess service, for more than five years.
Officials said anyone who may have come in contact with the employee has been notified.
