AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Here are the latest coronavirus updates from local health officials from across Central Texas, for August 17:

Travis County: 265 new cases were reported Monday by Austin Public Health, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 24,409 with 335 deaths. An estimated 23,144 cases have recovered, leaving 930 active cases.


236 patients are hospitalized across the five county metro area, with 83 in intensive care and 54 on ventilators.

27 new hospital admissions were reported Monday, with the 7-day moving average of new hospitalizations steady at 33.

Williamson County: 152 new cases and 1 new death were reported Monday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 7,482 with 103 deaths. 730 cases are estimated to be active, while 69 patients are hospitalized - a decrease of 4 from Friday's report. 26 are in intensive care and 14 are on ventilators.

Hays County: 39 new cases were reported Monday, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 5,150 with 41 deaths. 2,463 cases have recovered, leaving 2,646 active cases - a decrease of 3 from Friday. 17 patients are hospitalized, an increase of 1 from Friday.

Bastrop County: Since Friday, 31 new cases have been reported, for a total of 1,452 cases with 23 deaths.

Caldwell County: Since Friday, 12 new cases have been reported, for a total of 1,183 cases with 29 deaths.

State of Texas: 2,713 new cases were reported Monday across the state, along with 5,195 backlogged cases, bringing the total to 542,950. 51 new deaths were reported, for a total of 10,034. The 7-day positivity rate is up slightly to 11.87%. 6,200 Texans are hospitalized across the state, a decrease of 66 from Sunday.
