AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- We're following the latest coronavirus updates from local health officials across Central Texas, for July 1:

Travis County: Austin Public Health reported 597 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, pushing Travis County above the 10,000 mark to 10,124 confirmed cases. 4 new deaths were also reported, bringing the total to 128. 7,097 cases are estimated to be recovered, leaving 2,899 active cases - an increase of 56 from Tuesday. Total hospitalizations across the five county metro area are up to 376, an increase of 9 from Tuesday, with 133 in intensive care and 67 on ventilators.


57 new patients were admitted into area hospitals Wednesday, with the 7-day moving average of new hospitalizations now at 55.1.

Williamson County: 109 new cases were reported on Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases to 2,339. 932 cases are recovered, with 39 deaths and 1,322 active cases. 98 patients are hospitalized, a decrease of 5 from Tuesday, with 35 in intensive care and 11 on ventilators.

Hays County: 105 new cases were reported Wednesday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 2,924. 2,434 of those cases are active, with 483 recoveries and 7 deaths. Hospitalizations for Hays County held steady Wednesday at 17.

Bastrop County: 3 new cases were reported Wednesday, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 442. County data is showing 156 recoveries and 6 deaths, leaving 280 active cases.

Caldwell County: DSHS reported 10 new cases Wednesday, for a total of 346 cases.

State of Texas: Statewide numbers continue to set daily records, with 8,076 new cases reported on Wednesday for a total of 168,062 cases. 57 new deaths were reported, for a total of 2,481 fatalities. 371 new hospitalizations were reported Wednesday, bringing the total to 6,904 patients across the state.
