Coronavirus COVID-19

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Here are the latest updates from local health officials on the coronavirus for June 18:

Travis County: While the area almost certainly crossed the milestone of 5,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, we will have to wait until Friday to see the data. Austin Public Health is upgrading the software that powers its tracking dashboard, and new information will not be released until Friday afternoon.


Williamson County: 46 new cases were reported Thursday, pushing the total to 1,114. 627 of those cases are considered to be recovered, an increase of 6 of Wednesday. In WilCo alone, 12 patients are hospitalized, with 6 in intensive care and 2 on ventilators.

Hays County: Another 210 cases were reported Thursday in Hays County, pushing the total to 1,448. Only 338 of those are recovered, leaving 1,105 active cases and 5 fatalities. 14 patients are currently hospitalized.

Bastrop County: 8 new cases were reported Thursday, pushing the total to 329. 121 of those are recovered, an increase of 2 from Wednesday.

Caldwell County: 14 new cases were reported Thursday, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 190.

State of Texas: Texas added another 3,516 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, pushing the total to 99,851. 43 new deaths were reported, bringing the total number of fatalities across the state to 2,105. Hospitalizations across the state continue to rise as well, with the number of hospitalized Texans now at 2,947 - an increase of 154 from Thursday.
