Travis County: Austin Public Health reported another 636 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 8,461. 5,726 of those are estimated to be recovered, leaving 2,618 active cases - an increase of 462 from Saturday. A total of 351 patients are hospitalized across the five county metro area - an increase of 35 from Saturday - with 114 in intensive care and 60 on ventilators.
60 new patients were hospitalized on Sunday, with the 7-day moving average of new hospitalizations up to 52.
Williamson County: A man in his 40s is the latest COVID-19 death reported by Williamson County officials. According to the county, health officials cannot confirm that the death of a man in his 70s reported on Friday was due to COVID-19, so the death toll remains at 35. 169 new cases were reported Sunday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 2,019. 1,115 of those are active, with 835 recoveries and 35 deaths. 79 patients are hospitalized as of Sunday, the same as Saturday, with 26 patients in intensive care and 8 on ventilators.
Hays County: 117 new cases were reported on Sunday, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 2,586. 2,162 of those are active, leaving 418 recoveries and 6 deaths. 21 patients are hospitalized, holiding steady from Saturday's update.
Bastrop County: No new county data was available Sunday, with 416 confirmed cases, 137 recoveries, and 6 deaths.
Caldwell County: DSHS reports 4 new cases Sunday, for a total of 307 cases.
State of Texas: 5,357 new cases were reported across the state on Sunday, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 148,728. 27 new deaths were reported, bringing the total number of fatalities to 2,393. The total number of hospitalized patients across the state fell slightly Sunday for the first time in more than two weeks, with the total now at 5,497 - a decrease of 26 from Saturday.
