AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Local health officials continue to update the latest on the coronavirus pandemic. Here is the latest from across Central Texas for Saturday, June 6:
Travis County: 46 new cases were reported Saturday, pushing the total to 3,662. Recoveries crossed the 3,000 mark, up to 3,033 - an increase of 37 from Friday. No new deaths were reported, leaving the total at 97. 7 new hospitalizations were reported Saturday across the five county metro area, with the 7-day moving average dropping slightly to 11.4. In total, across the five county area, 80 patients are hospitalized, with 36 in intensive care and 22 on ventilators.
Williamson County: A woman in her 80s became the 28th WilCo resident to die from COVID-19. Local health officials say 6 new cases were reported Saturday, bringing the total to 684. 468 of those cases are considered to be recovered. No new testing data was reported Saturday, leaving the total number of tests at 12,644 with a 5% positive rate.
Hays County: No new data from Hays County was available Saturday. As of Friday, there were 398 confirmed cases, with 238 recoveries and 6 active hospitalizations.
Bastrop County: Another 5 new confirmed cases were reported Saturday, pushing the confirmed total to 244. 95 of those are considered to be recovered.
State of Texas: DSHS reported 1,940 new cases on Saturday, pushing the total number of cases statewide to 73,553. 31 new deaths were reported Saturday, pushing the total number statewide to 1,819.
