AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- We're tracking the latest updates from local health officials on the coronavirus, with the latest updates for Monday, June 8:

Travis County: One new death brings the total number of deaths in Travis County to 98. 118 new confirmed cases were reported, bringing the total number to 3,815. That's the highest single-day increase in confirmed cases throughout the pandemic. Recoveries are up to 3,098, an increase of 27 from Sunday. 10 new hospitalizations were reported Monday across the five county metro area, with the 7-day moving average of new hospitalizations down to 11.7. Across the five county area, a total of 89 patients are hospitalized, with 38 in intensive care and 25 on ventilators.


Williamson County: 7 new confirmed cases Monday pushes the total to 698. Officials say 507 of those are recovered, leaving 163 active. 7 are currently hospitalized, with 5 in intensive care and 4 on a ventilator.

Hays County: 43 new cases were reported Monday, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 441. 233 of those are considered to be recovered, with 6 active hospitalizations.

Bastrop County: DSHS data from Monday shows 255 confirmed cases for Bastrop County, 11 more than the county's last update to its dashboard.

State of Texas: Texas saw 638 new COVID-19 cases reported for Monday's update, bringing the statewide total to 75,616. 6 new deaths brings the total number of fatalities to 1,836.
