AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Expect traffic delays in northeast Austin this week as crews work to clean up a homeless camp underneath a US 183 overpass.
The camp along the eastbound frontage road of US 183 near Cameron Road has been the site of two fires in the past month. That fire danger is prompting the cleanup effort, being led by Austin Watershed Protection and Austin Public Works.
Officials say drivers should expected travel delays in the area, as lanes will be blocked by the crews during the work.
Austin Fire crews, while fighting the first fire on February 3, noted an extensive camp underneath the overpass - including generators, tires, bunk beds, and carpets.
