AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Polls are open for today's general election across Texas.

If you haven't already cast your ballot, polls are open until 7 p.m. tonight. As long as you are in line by 7 p.m., you are guaranteed to be able to cast a ballot.

Travis County residents can find polling locations, wait times, sample ballots, and more at VoteTravis.com.

More than 64 percent of Travis County's 855,175 registered voters cast their ballots during early voting. County officials expect another 100,000 to 150,000 voters to cast ballots Tuesday, if not more - possibly eclipsing the county's 78% turnout record.

Details for other counties in the metro area can be found here:

Sample ballots and more details can be found at www.Vote411.org.

To cast a ballot in Texas, you will need one of these seven types of photo identification, per Texas' Voter ID law:

  • A state driver's license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
  • A Texas election identification certificate (issued by DPS)
  • A Texas personal identification card (issued by DPS)
  • A Texas license to carry a handgun (issued by DPS)
  • A U.S. military ID card that includes a personal photo
  • A U.S. citizenship certificate that includes a personal photo
  • A U.S. passport

If you don't have one of those seven types of identification, you can still cast a ballot. You will have to sign a form swearing a "reasonable impediment" that prevents you from obtaining the appropriate identification. If you are claiming the impediment, you will need one of these types of identification:

  • Valid voter registration certificate
  • Certified birth certificate
  • A current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other document that shows the voter’s name and address (any government document that contains a voter’s photo must be an original)

Talk 1370 will have complete coverage of results from across the nation, across the state, and here in Austin - on-air, on the RADIO.COM app, and here on Talk1370.com - beginning at 6 p.m. with the east coast poll closings, and local and statewide results beginning at 7 p.m.
