(Talk1370.com) -- Elmer Fudd may still be "hunting wabbits", but he'll be doing it without his cartoon rifle.

The classic Warner Bros. characters are back on "Looney Tunes Cartoons," a new reboot on WarnerMedia's new HBO Max streaming service that executive producer Peter Browngardt harkens back to the early days of the franchise - the original run of which ended in 1969.

Fudd isn't the only one without his trademark gun, as Yosemite Sam has been disarmed, too.

"We’re not doing guns," Browngardt told the New York Times. "But we can do cartoony violence - TNT, the Acme stuff. All that was kind of grandfathered in."

So if Fudd can't have a gun, what can he use against his wascally wabbit nemesis, Bugs Bunny? In a short titled "Dynamite Dance", Fudd wields a scythe, while Bugs has plenty of dynamite.

So far, the crew says they're wrapping up production on the first 1,000 minutes of production - which adds up to about 200 cartoons in all.
