AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- As the coronavirus pandemic rages on and many Central Texans are facing food insecurity, the Central Texas Food Bank is continuing to hold drive-through food distributions to keep hungry people nourished.

The following distributions are scheduled to be held in December:

  • December 5: Nelson Field, 7105 Berkman Drive, 9am-Noon
  • December 10: Travis County Expo Center, 7311 Decker Lane, 9am-Noon
  • December 12: Lehman High School, 1700 Lehman Road (Kyle), 9am-Noon
  • December 21: Nelson Field, 7105 Berkman Drive, 9am-Noon
  • December 29: Del Valle High School, 5201 Ross Road, 9am-Noon
  • December 30: Nelson Field, 7105 Berkman Drive, 9am-Noon

Attendees will receive an assortment of food items which can vary, depending on available supplies. Prior to driving through, recipients are requested to make appropriate space in their trunk or hatch.

Although these distributions are designed as drive-through events, no one in need of food will be turned away. Recipients are asked to make room in their trunk or hatch prior to coming to the drive-through distribution events.

In addition to these drive-through distributions, the Food Bank has a network of partner food pantries and mobile food pantry distributions. For the latest information, visit www.CentralTexasFoodBank.org and click on "Find Food Now" or call 2-1-1.

With demand skyrocketing, the Food Bank is in need of monetary donations. If you have the means, please donate at www.CentralTexasFoodBank.org.
