SAN MARCOS, Texas (Talk1370.com) -- An investigation into what caused a crash between two planes at the San Marcos Regional Airport continues Friday morning.

The crash happened around 7:15 p.m. Thursday evening at the airport, located near the intersection of State Highway 21 and County Road 160.

Officials with the Federal Aviation Administration say two single-engine planes - a Team Rockets F1 Experimental aircraft and a Cessna 172 - collided while attempting to land.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, one of the aircraft flipped over, while the other caught fire and became fully engulfed.

Two people were injured in the crash, and were taken to a nearby hospital. A DPS spokesman said their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

In addition to DPS and the FAA, the National Transportation Safety Board is also investigating the crash.
