(Talk1370.com) -- Looking for your Economic Impact Payment from the government's coronavirus stimulus program? The IRS has launched a new web app to help.
Wednesday, the IRS launched a new Get My Payment feature on their website that allows you to check the status of your payment.
According to IRS officials, deposits started over the weekend for those with 2019 or 2018 tax returns on file that included direct deposit information.
In order to track the status of your payment, you'll need the following basic information:
- Social Security Number
- Date of birth
- Mailing address
If the IRS doesn't have direct deposit information for you, you can enter that online to speed up getting your payment. You'll need this information:
- Adjusted gross income from most recent tax return (2019 or 2018)
- Refund, or amount owed from most recent tax return
- Bank account details
For those who weren't required to file a tax return in either 2019 or 2018, there is a "Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info Here" link that allows you to submit the necessary information to receive your payment.
Officials say the online tool won't allow users to update bank account information already on file with the IRS, in order to prevent fraud.
