Active shooter neutralized, prompts lockdown at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (Talk1370.com) -- A naval air station in south Texas went on lockdown Thursday morning after an active shooter situation was reported.

Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi announced on social media that the incident happened around 6:15 a.m. near the facility's north gate. The shooter was "neutralized" according to the post, but no other details were immediately available. One security guard was reported to have been injured.

The base remained in a partial lockdown as of 11 a.m. Thursday morning, with personnel only being allowed to leave the base through the facility's south gate.
