TRAVIS COUNTY (Talk1370.com) -- Officials have identified the man whose body was recovered from Lake Travis Sunday afternoon.
First responders were called to Muleshoe Bend Park just before 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon on a report of a swimmer going underwater and not resurfacing. The Travis County Sheriff's Office, Travis County Parks and Recreation, the Pedernales Fire Department, and STAR Flight all assisted in the search for 23-year old Micheal Ihekwoaba.
Around 4:30 p.m., rescue efforts shifted to a recovery operation. Crews were able to find Ihekwoaba's body via sonar in water approximately 7-10 feet deep around 5:18 p.m.
An investigation into the cause and manner of death is being conducted by TCSO and the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office.
