AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- One person was killed and another was seriously injured after an auto-pedestrian crash in southwest Austin Sunday afternoon.
First responders were called to the northbound lanes of the 4300 block of South Lamar Boulevard near the Highway 71/Loop 360 interchange just before 4 p.m. Sunday. According to Austin-Travis County EMS, initial reports indicated a vehicle struck a pedestrian, then struck a light pole.
One adult was pronounced deceased on the scene; a second patient was extricated after being pinned in their vehicle, and was transported to South Austin Medical Center with potentially serious injuries. A third patient refused treatment.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
