
AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- One person is dead and four others were seriously injured after a vehicle reportedly drove into a construction zone on the northern end of the MoPac Expressway Tuesday night.
First responders were called to the scene in the southbound lanes of the 12200 block of MoPac around 9:45 p.m., near the Parmer Lane exit.
According to Austin-Travis County EMS, the driver of the vehicle was reportedly pinned, while four pedestrians were involved in the crash.
ATCEMS said it sent four ambulances to the scene. One of the patients was pronounced deceased on the scene; the remaining patients were taken to St. David's Round Rock and Dell Seton Medical Center with a mix of critical and serious injuries.
Traffic is being detoured in the area as crews continue to work the scene.
