AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting in southwest Austin early Saturday.
Police responded to the scene in the 3800 block of Alexandria Drive just after 4:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
When officers arrived, they found a white male with extensive trauma including a gunshot wound. Police say he was pronounced deceased around 5 a.m. after EMS attempted life-saving measures. The victim's identity is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
Police say a "lengthy" investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call APD's Homicide unit at 512-974-TIPS, or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS.
