AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Officials are investigating a fire that damaged a downtown Austin BBQ restaurant early Tuesday morning.
Austin Fire crews were called to the House Park Bar-B-Que restaurant in the 900 block of West 12th Street near Lamar Boulevard just after midnight Tuesday.
According to AFD, 10 apparatus and 30 personnel responded to the scene. Flames were quickly brought under control, although the building suffered extensive fire and smoke damage.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
According to the restaurant's own website, it opened in 1943 and is home to the city's oldest barbecue pit.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for rebuilding the restaurant, with a $100,000 goal.
