AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- With eyes on Hurricane Laura in the Gulf, Tuesday will bring heat and a few clouds to Central Texas.
Partly cloudy skies will keep highs in the upper 90s, to a high of 99. Winds will be out of the northeast, 5 to 10 mph.
Tonight, partly cloudy skies will continue with lows falling into the upper 70s.
Laura grew into a category 1 hurricane just after 7 a.m. Tuesday morning, continuing on a forecast track to make landfall near the Texas/Louisiana border sometime late Wednesday into early Thursday morning. The track continues to be far enough to the east that effects on the Austin area will be minimal, with rainfall estimates of less than an inch along the Interstate 35 corridor.
