AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Police say a dispute over a stolen car apparently led to a deadly shooting in southeast Austin Monday.

Austin Police were called to the 2400 block of Wickersham Lane around 3 p.m. Monday afternoon, after multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots.

When officers arrived, they found a 38-year old white male victim who had "obvious trauma" to his body. He was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center, where he died a short time later.

The man's identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.

Police say multiple suspects have been identified in connection with the incident. Based on information gathered so far, police say the incident appears to have started as a dispute concerning the victim's vehicle, which had been stolen three days earlier.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call APD's Homicide tip line at 512-974-TIPS.
