AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Austin Police responded to a Target store at Capital Plaza near Interstate 35 and 51st Street Sunday evening, after looters reportedly hit the store.
Saturday, Target officials temporarily closed three Austin-area stores along with a number of stores across the country. The Capital Plaza location was not one of the three stores closed in Austin.
When officers arrived, they didn't find anyone inside the store, but items appeared to have been taken from the store. Several windows at the Target and a nearby Foot Locker store were smashed, APD said.
Capital Plaza was one of many sites that were vandalized by looters across the city. Earlier on Sunday, APD responded to a report of looting at Lakeline Mall, and several Sixth Street businesses in the early morning hours.
