AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- A reward is being offered for information in a hit-and-run involving a Travis County Sheriff's deputy earlier this month.
According to the Travis County Sheriff's Office, deputies were working a collision in the 13400 block of FM 812 around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, June 12. Traffic flow was reduced to one lane to allow for emergency crews to respond. A vehicle approached the west side of the collision scene, ignored commands from a deputy to stop, and drove straight into the active response area, striking the deputy. He was thrown onto the hood of the car, then fell to the ground. Officials say he was treated and released at a local hospital.
TCSO says the suspect vehicle may be an Infiniti i30 with a 2000 or 2001 model year, and may have damage to the hood and driver's side passenger door. The driver is described as a Hispanic male in his late 20s to early 30s. There was a female passenger in the front seat.

TCSO believes the driver acted intentionally. The National Police Association is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the driver.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call TCSO at 512-854-1444 or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS.
