COLLEGE STATION (Talk1370.com) -- The Southeastern Conference will play an 18-game conference schedule for the 2020-21 men's basketball season.
SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey made the announcement Friday morning.
The conference schedule will begin on December 29 and 30, comprised of 20 play dates that would accomodate an 18-game schedule with two open dates.
Ten SEC schools will fill one of those open dates with the SEC/Big 12 Challenge, set for late January. The four teams not participating will play league games that day.
NCAA officials announced earlier this month that the 2020-21 men's and women's seasons will start on November 25, with practices beginning on October 14.
