Man dies after small plane crashes near Round Rock

WILLIAMSON COUNTY (Talk1370.com) -- A man is dead after a small plane crashed north of Round Rock Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities say the crash happened on FM 1431 about a half mile west of Interstate 35, just north of the city.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a twin-engine Cessna aircraft crashed and caught fire in a wooded area. The man was the only one onboard, officials said.

The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate the crash.
