KILLEEN, Texas (Talk1370.com) -- A suspect wanted in connection with a Fort Hood criminal investigation killed himself early Wednesday morning, officials said.

The Killeen Police Department said it was working with the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force to locate a suspect.

As officers closed in on the suspect in the 4700 block of East Rancier Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, the suspect displayed a weapon and then shot himself.

Authorities have not yet confirmed what case the suspect was wanted for, nor have they released the person's identity.

The incident comes hours after human remains were uncovered in a search for Pfc. Vanessa Guillen in Bell County. While those remains have not yet been positively identified, officials believe they are those of Guillen.
