AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Travis County Commissioners are set to discuss a proposed economic development agreement on Tuesday that would bring Tesla's new factory to the area.

County officials released the presentation Friday as a part of Tuesday's meeting agenda. The proposed factory, according to other applications Tesla has filed for the project, would be between 4 and 5 million square feet and located on about 2,100 acres near State Highway 130 and Harold Green Road in Del Valle.

According to the presentation to commissioners, the factory would create 5,000 new jobs with an average salary of $47,147 and over $7 million in tax revenue over 10 years - in exchange for an 80 percent tax rebate of $14.65 million. Tesla would also invest $1 billion in new construction and taxable business personal property.

Secondary effects could create as many as 4,000 additional jobs, according to a county analysis.

Tuesday's presentation to Travis County follows another incentive proposal being considered by Del Valle ISD officials. That proposal would provide an estimated $68 million in property tax breaks from the district.
