AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Two people are dead and a third is recovering in the hospital after they attempted a home invasion, officials said.
Police responded to the Creekside on Parmer Lane apartment complex, near Harris Branch Parkway around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night, on a "shots fired" call.
Officials say three people tried to enter an apartment to rob the home; a resident in the apartment fired at the suspects, killing a male and a female and injuring another male. The injured male was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say their investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (512) 472-TIPS.
