WILLIAMSON COUNTY (Talk1370.com) -- Williamson County health officials say they've identified the county's first cluster of COVID-19 cases, as a sixth person died from the virus Saturday and five new cases were reported.
Health officials say there are now 211 confirmed cases across the county as of Saturday afternoon.
Officials are investigating what they believe to be the first cluster of cases at a nursing home in the county, where 46 cases of residents and staff have been confirmed.
County orders require all patients, staff, and next of kin to be notified if there is a single confirmed case of COVID-19 in a facility. In the event of a cluster at a facility involving two or more patients, the facility will be restricted from receiving any new patients into the facility or any returning patients to the facility until health officials have cleared the facility, and all clinical staff, non-clinical staff, and contractors are required to be made available for testing.
Officials say their investigation into the cluster is ongoing.
