Southwest Airlines has reached a new contract deal with one of its labor unions.
Teamsters Local 19 has reached a tentative four-year agreement on a new contract with Southwest. They represent dozens of flight simulator technicians. Those are the employees who are responsible for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of the company's flight simulators.
The new contract would give them a 23-percent pay raise, a bonus when the contract is ratified...and improved retirement and parental leave benefits.
Union members will vote on the contract in the next few weeks.
