AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Two Austin Police bike officers were sent to the hospital early Saturday morning after they were hit by a suspected drunk driver, officials said.
APD says the officers were struck in the 600 block of 7th Street near Red River Street just before 3 a.m. Saturday morning. Officials said the officers' injuries were serious, but not life-threatening.
"Please pray for their quick recovery, and a reminder to always have a plan to get home if you've been drinking. Don't drink and drive," police chief Joseph Chacon said in a Tweet.
The driver was arrested and is expected to face charges of driving while intoxicated.
