(Talk1370.com) -- Austin Police have made an arrest in an eastside homicide Sunday night - tracking the suspect all the way into the Hill Country. That and more in your Morning Headlines for April 29.

Eastside Homicide Arrest... In Kerrville: Austin Police say they’ve made an arrest in an east side homicide investigation we first told you about yesterday morning. APD says officers were called to that scene off of Philomena Street in the Mueller neighborhood around 10:15 Sunday night; officers found an unresponsive woman with a gunshot wound in the parking lot. That victim, identified as 22-year old Samantha Fernandez, was pronounced deceased on the scene a few minutes later. Police have identified 22-year old Gonzalo Mendoza Gonzalez as the suspect in the case; he fled the scene and drove to Kerrville where his truck broke down. He’s facing a first-degree murder charge.

House Passes Active Shooter Bill: Nearly three years after a deadly school shooting at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, state lawmakers are working on improving law enforcement response protocols in future active shooter situations. House Bill 33 would establish a statewide protocol and require law enforcement agencies to train alongside school districts. The bill, authored by former Uvalde Mayor and now current state representative Don McLaughlin, would also require school district police departments and other agencies to have a public information officer who is certified in emergency communications. The House passed the bill unanimously on 147-0 vote; the bill now heads to the Senate.

ABIA Parking Rates Going Up: If your typical travel plans at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport involve using the Red or Blue parking garages, get ready to pay more. Airport officials say the rates for both garages will be going up beginning Thursday. The red garage daily rate will jump three dollars to $35, while the hourly rate will go up by $2 dollars; the blue garage daily rate will also jump three dollars to $26. The increased funds will go towards the ongoing airport expansion project, including construction of the new Yellow garage, which is expected to partially open next year - at which point the Red garage will be torn down. One parking rate not changing - the economy lots, where rates will stay at $5 per hour or $12 per day.

24/7 Weather Center Forecast: Another cloudy and warm day on tap for your Tuesday... high of 88. After today, expect rain chances all the way into next week.
