AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Police say an argument escalated into a deadly shooting on the city's southeast side Sunday morning.
According to Austin Police, officers were called to the 4600 block of Cypress Bend near Nuckols Crossing around 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning. When they arrived, they found a male victim with gunshot wounds.
"It was an isolated incident between two (people)," said APD senior officer Demetri Hobbs. "And it went bad."
Hobbs said the victim, who has been identified as 41-year old Francisco Chavez, was pronounced deceased a few minutes later.
Investigators have identified the suspect, but he was not in custody as of Sunday, officials said. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
It's the city's 86th homicide of the year.
