AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Austin Public Health officials say they'll offer another COVID-19 vaccine appointment scheduling window Tuesday night, after nearly 3 out of 4 appointments released Monday night went unfilled.
Beginning this week, APH is offering vaccinations to all adults. Even with the expanded availability, only about 3,400 appointments were scheduled, out of 14,000 available slots.
"In conversations with some of my colleagues across the state of Texas, a lot of us are getting to a point where we're going to have to pivot and change strategies," APH Director Stephanie Hayden-Howard told members of the Austin City Council and Travis County Commissioners Court Tuesday. "Because now we're at a point where there is more vaccine that is readily available in our community. So we must be strategic and start [making] those changes."
Tuesday's appointment window will begin at 7 p.m., officials said. Residents can pre-register online any time at the city's website, then come back when the appointment window opens.
