AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Austin Resource Recovery will once again offer pickup services for brush and bulk trash items beginning in May, after a nearly three month pause due to staffing shortages.
The city says it still needs to hire more drivers; in the meantime, officials said, the city will hire contractors to enable service to resume to customers on May 2.
According to a release from the city, curbside customers who missed a collection during the suspension will be the first to get those services. Customers will receive a notification postcard via mail a couple of weeks before their next collection.
Residents seeking alternatives to their regular curbside collection may continue to drop off large brush at the Hornsby Bend Biosolids Management Plant and utilize the Clothing and Housewares program for unwanted bulk items. Additional disposal options can be found in ARR's 'What Do I Do With...' tool.
Anyone seeking a job is urged to call Austin Resource Recovery, who has openings for both entry-level and experienced drivers. More information is available at (512) 974-1980.
