AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- The month of October was, as expected, record-breaking at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, with more than 2 million passengers flying through the airport during the month.

The 2,002,078 passengers marks a 31.57% increase over October 2021, according to data released Monday by AUS.

October's mark is just under the all-time monthly record set back in May, by about 19,000 passengers. Despite the monthly total not quite reaching record levels, several individual days in October rank among the airport's busiest ever.

October 24, the day after this year's Formula 1 United States Grand Prix, saw more than 43,000 passengers depart from AUS - besting the previous record, set just a week earlier, by nearly 8,000 passengers.

For the year through the end of October, total passenger traffic through AUS totals 17,526,095, representing a 68.78% increase over the same period in 2021.

Southwest, American, and Delta continue to lead the airlines at AUS, with nearly one million passengers flying via Southwest.
