AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Authorities say a cargo train has derailed in downtown Austin, causing traffic troubles across parts of South Austin Thursday morning..
Austin Police say that train derailed near West Third and Bowie Streets around 4:45 a.m. Thursday, just east of the Lamar Boulevard bridge over Lady Bird Lake.

APD says the cargo onboard the train is non-hazardous and no injuries were reported. Union Pacific and Amtrak crews were both responding to the scene.
According to officials, the train had more than 230 cars attached to it. South of Lady Bird Lake, crossings along the rail line at West Mary Street and Oltorf Street were blocked, creating traffic troubles in parts of South Austin.
