AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Fresh off an arctic blast that brought some of the coldest temperatures of the season to much of the state, Central Texas may face another bout of wintry precipitation early this weekend.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Hays and Caldwell Counties from 6PM Friday until 9AM Saturday...

Forecast models continue to indicate a chance of light showers and drizzle Friday evening possibly turning into a combination of freezing rain and sleet by Saturday morning.

While it's too early to identify specific accumulation amounts or areal coverage, any accumulation could prove to be treacherous on area roadways with temperatures still expected to fall just below the freezing mark Saturday morning.

Elevated surfaces including highway overpasses and flyovers would be the primary concern for travel impacts.

Once the sun comes up Saturday, highs are expected to warm into the 40s, which should melt away any remaining frozen precipitation.
