This year's festival - the 25th annual edition - is set for October 2-4 and 9-11 in Zilker Park. 3-day passes will go on sale later today at noon; you can find details online at ACLFestival.com.
On Monday, we got a picture of the economic impact from last year’s festival. According to promoter C3 Presents, ACL Fest contributed nearly $558 million dollars to the Austin economy last year. Since 2006, when the festival started tracking economic impact, ACL Fest has generated more than $4.7 billion dollars.
For 21 years, the festival has also made an annual donation to the city’s public parks - this year, that donation totaled $8.5 million dollars. Those funds support parks across the city in all 10 council districts.
in addition to the annual parks donation, C3 pays for all of the repairs to Zilker Park following the festival each year.
