AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- A collaborative vaccine clinic effort between Travis, Bastrop, Caldwell, and Hays Counties is now offering COVID-19 shots to those 12 and older without an appointment.

The clinic has moved to the Travis County Expo Center at 7311 Decker Lane in east Austin, giving out doses of the Pfizer vaccine - which was recently given an emergency use authorization for those 12 and older.

No appointments are required, and the clinic is scheduled to be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, weather permitting. Parental consent is required for kids ages 12-17 to get vaccinated.

"This is a huge step in our fight against COVID-19," Travis County Judge Andy Brown said. "Being able to vaccinate some of the youngest members of our community will help us get back to normal sooner. If you're a parent with children aged 12 to 15 years, I encourage you to get them vaccinated as soon as you are able."

The clinic was previously set up at the Circuit of The Americas race track in southeast Austin. Those who received a first dose at COTA will get their second dose at the Expo Center, officials said.

Austin Public Health is continuing its walk-up clinics as well, which offer the Moderna vaccine. The Delco Activity Center will be open from 3 until 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, and the Little Walnut Creek Library will be open from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
