AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Green Day and Ed Sheeran will headline this year's Formula 1 Aramco United States Grand Prix at Circuit of The Americas, officials announced Tuesday.

This year's USGP weekend is set to take place Oct. 21-23 at the track in southeast Travis County.

"These superstar performers are for the fans, as the tickets are already almost sold out. We want the United States Grand Prix to be the greatest sports and entertainment event, along with the best ticket value, in the world," says Bobby Epstein, COTA Chairman. "With 20 other bands, these headliners round out a spectacular weekend festival of racing, music, camping and fun."

Green Day will headline the Friday night festivities on Oct. 21, with Ed Sheeran set to take the circuit's Germania Insurance Super Stage on Oct. 22. The two acts join past marquee headliners including Taylor Swift, Elton John, and Britney Spears.

Tuesday's announcement follows a recent deal between Formula 1 and COTA officials to keep the USGP at the circuit through the 2026 season. F1 is working to expand the sport's presence in the United States, with the addition of a second race set to bow in Miami this year and a potential third race under consideration in Las Vegas.

Officials said tickets for the F1 weekend quickly sold out when they were released earlier this year. With Tuesday's concert announcements, officials said a limited number of additional general admission tickets for Friday and Saturday will be released at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning. General admission tickets will cost $59 for Friday and $129 for Saturday.
