AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Texas' electric grid operator is once again calling for conservation efforts Wednesday evening - for the eighth time in the month of August.
ERCOT officials say Wednesday's appeal will be in effect from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., due to "a high level of unexpected thermal generation outages and forecasted low wind generation."
Through each of the previous Conservation Appeals, ERCOT has been able to avoid entering emergency operations to due to low electricity reserves.
As a part of the conservation appeal, ERCOT is requesting all government agencies (including city and county offices) to implement all programs to reduce energy use at their facilities.
