AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- The southbound lanes of US 183 re-opened after being shut down for roughly six hours Friday morning following a fatal crash involving a pickup truck and a pedestrian.
APD says the crash happened in the 13000 block of US 183 in the southbound lanes just before 4 a.m. Friday morning.

Police say the pedestrian was presumptively trying to cross the highway when they were hit. EMS responded to the scene and attempted medical care on the victim; APD says that person was declared dead at 4:25 a.m.
APD said the mainlanes re-opened shortly after 10 a.m.
The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to APD.
