AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- One person is dead following an auto-pedestrian crash in downtown Austin Wednesday morning.
Police say it happened just before 5:30 a.m. Wednesday in the southbound mainlanes at Cesar Chavez.
Traffic was being diverted to the frontage road; delays were stretching back to US Highway 183 according to TxDOT data. Officials finally cleared the mainlanes just before 8:30 a.m.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
