AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- A "water flow" issue prompted a fire alarm at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport on Wednesday morning, snarling morning air traffic.

Airport officials gave the "all clear" just after 8 a.m. Wednesday, saying the alarm had been checked and cleared, and passengers were being re-screened through security. Officials later said the airport resumed "normal operations" just before 10:30 a.m.

Passengers could be seen posting on social media as they were evacuated in all directions, including out on the airfield on the "secure" side of the airport.

Airport officials said a water main break on the airport's apron - the area where planes are parked as passengers board and deplane - set off the fire alarm. It was eventually determined to not be a threat, officials said.

Travelers were being urged to check flight status throughout the day as airlines worked to adjust flight schedules.
