AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Law enforcement agencies including the Austin Police Department will be participating in an "active attack training exercise" on the ground of Camp Mabry Wednesday morning.
APD officials say the training exercise will run from approximately 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., and will include a number of other agencies including Austin-Travis County EMS, Austin Fire, Camp Mabry security personnel, and others.
There will be a marked increase of police, fire, and EMS units in the area throughout the exercise, officials said.
The aim is to offer a realistic scenario that "tests and refreshes response protocols". Officials say the training, which occurs regularly, isn't a reaction to past incidents or any known threats.
