AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Rodeo Austin says it has been forced to cancel its public events for a second year, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
"We are heartbroken to cancel the ProRodeo, Carnival, Fair and BBQ Austin events scheduled for this March, but the health and safety of our community is our greatest concern," officials said in a release Friday. "Rodeo Austin is working closely with Public Officials to determine which events can be rescheduled for alternative dates in 2021."
Private youth competitions will continue in March, including the junior livestock shows, Ultimate Scramble Championship, Ag Mechanics competition, and the Youth Auction.
Officials said portions of the Travis County Expo Center, including the Ludecke Arena, are being used for the distribution of essential items related to the pandemic.
