Funeral arrangements announced for fallen Austin Police officer

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Funeral arrangements have been announced for an Austin Police officer who succumbed to injuries he sustained in an on-duty crash last week.

Senior Officer Lewis "Andy" Traylor was responding to a priority call early on the morning of July 28, when an 18-wheeler made a U-turn in front of him, causing him to crash into the rear of the trailer and sustaining critical injuries.


A public visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 8 at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home, located at 3125 North Lamar Boulevard.

Monday morning, a law enforcement procession will carry Traylor from the funeral home to the memorial service at Shoreline Church, beginning at 7:45 a.m. The route will follow along North Lamar to U.S. 183 to MoPac, exiting on Shoreline Drive. The public is encouraged to safely line the processional route.

Following the procession, a public memorial service will be held at Shoreline Church beginning at 10 a.m. Full law enforcement honors will follow on the front lawn of the church immediately following the service.
